Discover Lincolnshire Weekend takes place Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 March. It’s a great weekend to explore some of Lincolnshire’s hidden gems, attractions and businesses.

Here are some ideas to explore in North East Lincolnshire:

Discounted entry to Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre

Enjoy 10% off entry during the Discover Lincolnshire Weekend and explore the award winning centre showcasing Grimsby’s fishing heritage. Afterwards, visit the café for a coffee or tea and a sandwich.  They serve Lincolnshire Sausages, Stokes Coffee and Lincolnshire Plum Loaf.

Special Opening of Waltham Windmill and Waltham Museum of Rural Life

There has been a mill on the site since 1666 but the present six-storied mill was built in the 1880s by John Saunderson of Louth. The sails drive the grinding stones to produce flour, which is still milled today. Come and see the mill for Discover Lincolnshire Weekend, it’s the first weekend opening for 2023. Discounted entry.

On Sunday, the little train will be running at the site, from 12 noon to 4pm. Fares £1 per passenger.

Duffy’s Chocolate are an award-winning luxury chocolate maker, handmade in Lincolnshire. They use fine flavour cocoa beans, delicately roast and refine the beans and stone grind the chocolate to maximise the flavour. They have a huge range of milk, dark, dark milk and flavoured chocolate bars.

Docks Beers located in King Edward Street Grimsby is an independent brewery specialising in accessible craft beers. From lagers to traditional ales and more hop-forward brews, they combine the best traditional methods with modern brewing techniques. Visit the Taproom, join a brewery tour (held every Sunday) or attend a gig at the upstairs Docks Academy.  During the Discover Lincolnshire Weekend, Lloyd Griffiths is appearing although most nights are now sold out.

At the Rutland Arms, Grimsby enjoy a pint of Lincolnshire’s ale from Wickham House brewery, Horncastle Ales or Shadowbridge Ales made in Barton.

Coastal Hut Café in Cleethorpes serve locally sourced Lincolnshire Sausages alongside Stokes Coffee and Stokes Hot Chocolate, perfect for cosying up on a cold day!
