FreeDiscover Immingham at Immingham Museum
Immingham Museum, Pelham Road, Immingham
1pm to 4pm, Saturday 10 September
Discover Immingham’s history with a visit to Immingham Museum. Learn about the town’s social history from humble beginnings as a small village to the large town that it is today, home of the UK’s largest port by tonnage, handling around 46 million tonnes of cargo every year.
The small museum features several exhibitions including the history of Immingham Dock, the influence of the Great Central Railway, the town’s connection to the Mayflower Pilgrims and their dramatic escape from the shores of Immingham in 1608 and an extensive working model railway displayed on the first floor.
The museum is a great place to begin a walk of the Pilgrims Heritage Trail which takes in four locations of the town and tells the story of the Mayflower Pilgrims and their connection to Immingham. Extend your walk through the beautiful Mayflower Woods.
Free entry to the museum, donations are very much welcomed.
Refreshments, car parking and toilets are available.
Partial wheelchair access, disabled car parking and disabled toilet available on site.
