Heritage Open Days – discounted entry to Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre

17th September 2022 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Delve into the Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre with discounted entry on Heritage Open Day

Saturday 17 September

Enjoy 20% discounted entry into Grimsby’s favourite attraction!

Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre is a multi-award winning attraction which will transport you back in time to the 1950’s heyday of the famous port of Grimsby. Carefully crafted sets and original preserved trawler interiors capture the atmosphere and essence of a remarkable way of life in one of the most dangerous occupations in living memory.

You will experience this twentieth century saga by signing on as a crew member and travelling in their footsteps – leaving your 1950’s Grimsby home for a trip to the perilous Arctic fishing grounds and returning home to the comfort of the Freeman’s Arms public house!

Don’t miss the opportunity to tour the magnificent M.F.V. ROSS TIGER (usual admission charges apply). It is the earliest diesel engine side trawler preserved in the UK! The ship is preserved in a permanent mooring outside of the Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre. Tours offer a unique opportunity to see first-hand what it was like to be aboard a trawler in what is often described as Britain’s most dangerous job.

Take the opportunity to view the two exhibitions taking place in the Murial Barker Gallery – Sea to Sale and Fish ‘n’ Quips.  Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a cake in the on site café.
