Grim FalFest

Featuring over 100 Vikings complete with long ships who will descend on Grimsby over the weekend, the festival takes place on Friday 23 through to Sunday 25 September 2022.

The celebration has been created by the Visitor Economy, Services and Retail team (VESR CIC) of North East Lincolnshire and is delivered in partnership with Heritage Lincolnshire. The project is supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund who have awarded funding for activities, performance and workshops in schools and the local community throughout the year.

What’s happening when?

Heritage market, food stalls and music – Riverhead Square – opens to the public at 5pm

Lighting of a beacon accompanied by Taiko drummers – 7pm

The arrival of Grim and Havelok by Viking Longboats – 7.30pm

Celebrate with Grim & his Vikings in Riverhead Square – 8.30pm-10pm

All day – Long Ships ‘Heron’ and the ‘Valhalla’ will be moored outside the Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre

Visit the Viking Village in St James Square including weapons displays and children’s battle training – 10am to 4pm

See Living History and Combat in People’s Park – 11am to 7pm

See a Viking Battle in People’s Park – 3pm

Enjoy street food and ceilidh band music in Riverhead Square – 7pm-8pm

See a Viking Battle in People’s Park – 1pm

Follow the Vikings parade back to Riverhead Square – 2pm

Join Grim and his Vikings for the closure of the festival at Riverhead Square, 2.45pm-3pm
