Great Grimsby’s Fabulously Festive Weekender

Enjoy a weekend of seasonal treats on Friday 25, Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 November in the town centre, with free access to the ‘Earth’ exhibition in Grimsby Minster.

The three-day Fabulously Festive Weekender in Grimsby town centre will host a Christmas market featuring seasonal crafts and gifts inside and around Grimsby Minster along with delicious food stalls on Friday and Saturday. There will be colourful and lively entertainment throughout the weekend, including stilt walkers, performance acts and live music as well as further festive fun at Top Town Market and in Freshney Place.

On Friday, this fantastic event starts with festive stalls hosted from 10am right through to 8pm.

In the evening, join us at our Community Christmas Tree Lighting taking place at 6.30pm in St James’ Square. There will be performances from All For One Choir, East Coast Elite band and a blessing from the Minster’s vicar, Father Chris Hewitt.

On Saturday, there will be festive stalls, food and drink, 10am-4pm with entertainment throughout the day including live music from the ‘Fabulously Festive’ stage. Meet fabulous performers including the Toy Box Christmas stilt walkers, cheeky elves who will be checking if you’ve been naughty or nice and a man in a Christmas present. Don’t miss out meeting Rodney, the life-like baby reindeer! He’s so cute!

Also for children, there’ll be story telling with readings from ‘Sparki & The Journey to Earth’ inside Grimsby Minster, hosted by local company and Gaia sponsor, MyEnergi.

In Grimsby Top Town Market, shoppers and children can enjoy festive cheer with crafting sessions, seasonal story telling, live music and walkabout acts.

In Freshney Place Shopping Centre, you can meet the mischievous Grinch character as he causes mayhem in the centre! As Santa and his elves are in town, don’t forget a visit to the Elf Station, pose for family photos and get creative with festive arts and crafts. On Sunday, the weekend’s festivities conclude with tasty food and drink stalls in St James’ Square from 11am to 4pm with music from the Cleethorpes Band. Freshney Place Shopping Centre is hosting Marty Clarke who will be singing Christmas classics and in the evening, Grimsby Minster will be holding its annual Advent Service at 7pm.

Throughout the whole weekend, visitors to the event can see Gaia, the stunning earth installation by Luke Jerram. Gaia exhibition times are Friday: 10am – 8pm, Saturday: 10am – 4pm, Sunday 1pm – 5pm.
