Grimsby Town Centre

Great Grimsby town centre is currently undergoing a radical transformation as part of a 25-year vision, with exciting leisure developments and regenerations works taking place. With a great mix of independents and branded stores, the town centre includes the exclusive Abbeygate shopping centre featuring several boutiques plus restaurants, bars and services, Freshney Place Shopping Centre, home to well-known shopping brands, Grimsby Top Town Market plus a great choice of cafés, bars and restaurants

Lincolnshire’s largest shopping centre, and the main shopping destination within Grimsby, Freshney Place Shopping Centre has shops, including hugely popular high street brands and delightful, small, independent boutiques.  All stores are indoors with parking at either end of the centre and mobility scooters are available to hire for ease of access.

With numerous eateries, Freshney Place is an ideal location to spend an afternoon and find all your Christmas gifts under one roof, from toys and fashion through to fragrance and books.

Elf Station – Santa and his Elves are coming to Grimsby!

Join the Elves and Santa for

  • Festive arts & crafts in the workshop
  • Striking your best pose for a family photo and receive a free print to take home

Make sure you are nice and not naughty because Santa will be keeping an eye on things!

The Elf Station, located at 3 Clayton Walk in the Freshney Place Soft Play Unit near Millie’s Cookies, will be open Saturdays and Sundays 11am-3pm 25 & 26 November, 2 & 3 December, 9 & 10 December, 16 & 17 December 2023.

Mayhem with The Grinch!

Come and meet the mischievous Grinch character as he causes mayhem around the shopping centre! Visiting on Sunday 26 November, Saturday 2 December (with Cindy Lou), Sunday 10 December and Saturday 16 December. You can pose for a selfie if you can keep up with him!

Marty Clarke, vocalist will be singing some Christmas Classics in the centre, 11am to 3pm

Letters to Santa via the Freshney Place Santa’s Post Box located near Next. Available from 13 November through to Monday 18 December (last posting date for 2nd class).

Have a Heart Campaign – BRIC and NSPCC. Freshney Place will be hosting its incredibly popular HAVE A HEART campaign, inviting visitors to buy and donate a Christmas gift for a child who may not otherwise receive one this year. Tags detailing gender and age of a child can be collected from the tree located at the Customer Service Desk from Monday 13 November to Monday 18 December. Un-wrapped gifts should be returned to the same location.

Not Home Alone at Christmas Campaign. If you would like to send a card, picture or letter to an elderly person who may not receive one this Christmas, you can do so by popping it into the special Post Box located next to the Christmas Tree near Next from 13 November through to 18 December.

Late Night Shopping in Freshney Place begins on Thursday 30 November and continues every Thursday until Christmas. There’s free parking in Freshney Place car parks from 5pm.

Abbeygate Shopping Centre is a sophisticated shopping experience located on the site of old brewery buildings. Home to a number of independent fashion boutiques selling high end brands including Ted Baker, Barbour, Vivian Westwood, Armani and Hugo Boss, plus artisan crafts and restaurants. Other niche retailers include a children’s shoe shop, bridal shop and beauty salons.

Appreciate the café culture of this unique location and enjoy a meal or drinks with friends or family in the restaurants and cocktail bar.

Grimsby’s Top Town Market is located next to Freshney Place Shopping Centre with entrances from centre and also on Bull Ring Lane and Victoria Street.

Selling a fresh, local, quality produce from experienced traders who offer personal service which we sometimes lose when shopping with large retailers. Our traders can recommend what is in season and the best way to cook it with a smile on their face, which sees regular customers visit time and time again. The market also offers a number of non-food stalls including shoes, clothing, gifts, key cutting services, electrical goods, homeware and a number of unique stalls when you are looking for something different.  

The main market hall is open four days a week from 9am to 4pm on a Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  The Food Hall offers quality cooked food and can be accessed via Freshney Place six days a week from 9am to 4pm, Monday to Saturday.

The market has a number of activities taking place for the festive season including:

On Saturday 25 November, the same day as the Great Grimsby Christmas Festival event, Grimsby Top Town Market will be bringing shoppers and children festive cheer by hosting a Charity Pop Up Christmas Market, organised by St Andrew’s Hospice and featuring a range of traders.

Meet the stallholders and vote for the best dressed stall

During December the market traders are getting into the festive spirit with decorated stalls to bring some extra cheer to your weekly shop. Pop along and meet them and vote which you like best. Voting is throughout December right up to Christmas Eve with the winning stall getting a prize.

Cleethorpes Town Centre

There’s a fantastic choice of independent stores and boutiques plus eateries and services along the bustling main shopping street of St Peter’s Avenue, the High Street and Market Street. There’s parking available in St Peter’s Avenue and the High Street with some free on street parking available in the Market Place.

Parking is available in Wardell Street car park and there is some on street parking also.
