EXHIBITION ‘Tracks, Smacks and Sunhats’

Tracks, Smacks and Sunhats is an exhibition celebrating the arrival of the railway to our area.
Have you ever been curious about how the railway affected Grimsby and Cleethorpes, or how Grimsby and Cleethorpes became the tourist attraction it is today?
2023 marks 175 years since the opening of Grimsby railway station, with Cleethorpes railway station celebrating its 160th year.
The exhibition displays never before seen objects from the museum collection, examining how the railway helped develop industry and leisure in both towns.
The exhibition will also celebrate the 150th anniversary of Cleethorpes Pier.
This is a FREE exhibition.
Where: The Murial Barker Gallery, Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre
Open: From 15 September through to end December. The Centre is open to the public Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm. Closed Mondays, except Bank Holidays.
