Nunsthorpe School Photography Exhibition
May 1 @ 8:30 am - May 31 @ 5:30 pm
FreeOVER 400 images depicting life at Nunsthorpe School, Grimsby, between the 1930s and 1950s, goes on display at Grimsby Central Library throughout May.
This is the first time that the vast collection of images taken from both negatives and prints has been shown after they were donated to Lincs Inspire Local History Library in 2022 by the Garden City Reminiscence group.
They show school life, sports day, Rose Queen ceremonies, school open days and the more formal class group photos. All the photos were most likely taken by one of the teachers, Mr Harold Hillam.
The photographs are being displayed throughout May – Local History Month – within Grimsby Local History Library, at Grimsby Library – during library opening hours*. Visitors are welcome to browse the collection and the library welcomes anyone to inform them of any unknown names so they too can be documented and recorded.
- Tuesday to Friday 8:30am – 5:30pm
