Life in Plastic, it’s Fantastic! 

Family event adds a touch of pink to Freshney Place Shopping Centre 

Freshney Place Shopping Centre is gearing up for its ‘Life in Plastic, it’s Fantastic’ Barbie themed event on Saturday 29 July, to mark the new movie and provide some family entertainment as the school holidays get under way. Adding a touch of pink to the proceedings, there will be a mix of events and activities available to all visitors, all free of charge. 

Always one to travel in style, a 1950s pink Cadillac will be in the centre, providing the perfect photo opportunity. There will also be life sized doll boxes available, so get ready to strike your favourite pose and take your best selfie! To make sure everyone looks their ‘Barbie’ best, free glitter face painting, glitter tattoos and a hair accessory (whilst stocks last) will also be available. 

For craft lovers there will be the opportunity to make their own doll, with cut out clothes, accessories and hairstyles. And, if that wasn’t enough the Pink trail* will invite people to walk around the centre, seeking out the famous plastic doll themed clues in retailer’s shop windows. People can also keep a keen eye out for the lookalike characters roaming around the centre, meeting and greeting and posing for some ‘Barbtastic’ photos to capture the memorable day!  Activities will be available between 11am-3pm.
