Central Prom Beach

Central Prom and Beach

Cleethorpes Central Promenade is a long stretch of unspoilt beach of fine sand with a gentle gradient ideally suited for family activities and beach sports. Located to the right of Cleethorpes Pier, the Central Promenade area has a traditional, vibrant promenade. A variety of attractions are located here including amusement arcades, bowling and crazy golf. There are plenty of cafes and food and drink kiosks to keep you hydrated and the popular Lollipop Land Train makes regular trips up and down the sea front during the summer months.

Running parallel to Central Prom is the Victorian Pier Gardens, perfect for some quiet time away from the hubbub of the beach front.  Another great place to check out is the views from Ross Castle, a Victorian folly built in 1885.

Voted Pier of the Year in 2016, Cleethorpes Pier sits in the centre of the North and Central promenade beach and is currently home to Papas fish and chip restaurant.

The promenade, road and a footpath run the entire length of the beaches in Cleethorpes. It then becomes a public bridal way with cycle, walking and land train lanes continuing to the south beaches along the coastal route. There are several games painted on the tarmac along the way, such as snakes and ladders and hopscotch to keep the children amused.

Car parking is in abundance throughout the resort, both along the Promenade and several car parks within 5-minute walk from the beach. The railway station also has a direct exit onto the beach.  Please note that dogs are banned from this section of the beach between Good Friday and 30 September each year.

There are no lifeguards located at Cleethorpes beach but there is a dedicated resort team that operate 365 days a year.
