Love Exploring

Love exploring North East Lincolnshire!

For some fun family-time why not go on a winter fairy trail, a space walk or a dinosaur safari with our interactive games and trails?

You can find fairies, planets and dinosaurs roaming in various open spaces across North East Lincolnshire in the exciting augmented reality app for your mobile, Love Exploring.

Created to encourage families, young and old, to get out and about and visit some of our lovely parks and open spaces, these new virtual trails and games have been developed for use with a smart phone.

To get started, download the Love Exploring App and discover our parks, woodlands, gardens and coastline as you find winter fairs or hunt for the dinosaurs. Those who love our local history, will enjoy the Heritage Trail in Cleethorpes or the Pilgrims Trail in Immingham, highlighting fascinating facts and showing old photographs of buildings.

A perfect weekend or school holiday activity, families will love the games Winter Fairies, Space Walk and Dinosaur Safari. Head down to any of the locations and test your knowledge with the quiz. Explorers will see the planets or dinosaurs appear in front of them with the augmented reality game. You can check out the exact locations for the games and trails when you go on the App but we have games in Cleethorpes along the Prom and Pier Gardens area and the Boating Lake, Meridian and the coastal path area plus Cleethorpes Country Park. In Grimsby, head to People’s Park, Weelsby Woods and Grant Thorald Park. In Immingham, check out Homestead Park and Roval Drive play area.

We’d love to see your photos! You can take a selfie with a Dino, planet or fairy with the in-built photo-taker (and you can save them to your photo reel).  Tag us in on any images you share on social media using #discovernel and we’ll share our favourites.

Sign up to Our news and events emails and we’ll let you know as and when new games and trails go live.

Also inside the App are maps, points of interest, events listings and new virtual trails to explore. New trails and games are being developed and will be released over the coming months.
