North Prom

North Prom and Beach

Cleethorpes North Promenade is a stretch of unspoilt beach of fine sand with a gentle gradient ideally suited for family activities and beach sports. You can find the North Prom beach by turning left as you approach the Pier. For those arriving by train you can exit the station directly to the beach.

A traditional style promenade runs along the beach with a number of gift shops, traditional seaside arcades, cafes and takeaway foods.

This area of Cleethorpes is also home to a range of public sport facilities. There are 100m markers set into the paving for 1km, providing accurate sprint and running targets. Additionally, a range of street furniture has recently been installed which can double as fitness furniture. You can also see the Luminations by internationally renowned artist, Esther Rolinson. These come on at dusk until midnight and again pre-dawn.

With a dedicated beach safety team patrolling the foreshore, North Promenade is developing a vibe for active and well-being activities including ‘yoga on the beach’, paddle boarding, kayaking, running and keeping fit.

If you visit the North Prom out of usual shopping hours, you’ll be able to see a walking gallery of shutter art. Funded by the Coastal Communities Fund, a number of premises have artworks designed by local and international artists applied to their shutters.

Car parking is in abundance throughout the resort, both along the Promenade and several car parks within 5-minute walk from the beach.  A direct exit from the Railway Station comes out onto North Prom.  Please note that dogs are banned from this section of the beach between Good Friday and 30 September each year.
