Armed Forces Weekend in Cleethorpes

Taking place Friday 24 to Sunday 26 June, Armed Forces Weekend kicks off in Cleethorpes on Friday night with the return of the Cleethorpes Community Street Carnival Parade and follows throughout Saturday and Sunday with parades, air displays, live music and much more.

Here’s the latest outline of what’s happening, where and when:

Friday 24 June

12 noon Market traders and trade stands open – located along the seafront

Cleethorpes Carnival Parade starts at 6pm. Join along the route and enjoy watching the floats, marching bands, musicians, local dance and drama groups and local businesses as they take part. The parade will leave from Grant Street and take the route down Alexandra Road – along The Kingsway – into Kings Road – and ending at the Boating Lake (Lakeside Car Park).

After the parade, there will be entertainment on stage at the Remembrance Gate.

The Giant Ferris Wheel will be back! Located outside Cleethorpes Leisure Centre it will open to the public on Friday through to Sunday. The views are terrific!

12 noon – Armed Forces Parade

Throughout the weekend, you can enjoy perusing the various trade stands, food, drink and gift stalls located along the seafront.  We do have a fantastic range of hospitality businesses and retail shops to visit too. These are located throughout the town centre and resort. Please do go and visit and support them. They are so looking forward to seeing you!

Travel information for Armed Forces Weekend

You are probably aware that there will be rail cancellations due to strike action this weekend. Therefore the rail industry has introduced a temporary timetable. Whilst there will be very limited train services running on the rail network during this period, passengers are being advised to expect severe disruption. The Armed Forces team have put together some specific rail information on the news page of their website.

Parking for Armed Forces Weekend

Most car parks, with the exception of The Civic, The Knoll and Sea View Street Car Parks will remain open. Information on Car parks in Cleethorpes can be found at the North East Lincolnshire Council website.
