FreeCleethorpes on the Move – part of Heritage Open Days
Cleethorpes Town Hall, Knoll Street, Cleethorpes
10am-4pm Friday 9 September and
10am-4pm Saturday 10 September
Explore the story of transport that created the Cleethorpes of today with this special exhibition created by The Charter Trustees of Cleethorpes and Meggie’s Heritage.
See displays on the railways, trolley buses, tramways and more. Tour the Council Chamber of Cleethorpes Town Hall and view the iconic statue of The Boy with the Leaking Boot, which had been given to the town by the Swedish Vice-Consul, John Carlbom.
There will be a quiz for children to enjoy whilst viewing the exhibition and take a selfie with the 1900’s style seaside peep board.
[Apologies but due to the sad news of the passing of Her Majesty the Queen, the entertainment planned on Saturday will now not take place].
A Grade II listed building, Cleethorpes Town Hall was designed by Herbert Scaping in the Baroque style in red brick with stone dressings. It was built by Henry Marrows and opened in 1905.
